Focus Groups and Steering Committee

TRIP convened a focus group working and steering committee in January 2007. The committee included ARTA Chairman Barry Richcreek (Richcreek Vacation Center, Harrisburg, PA), ARTA Vice Chairman John Faulds, CTC (Travel Destinations, Scottsdale, AZ), ARTA Executive Director Pat Funk, Nancy Linares, CTC (Holidays 'n Travel, Austin, TX), Gerda Myer, CTC (World Travel Management, Woodland Hills, CA), Sally Watkins, CTC (Century Travel, Austin, TX), and Bruce Bishins, CTC (CSTAR, Toronto, Canada).
 
The committee conducted focus group meetings in Washington, DC, Dallas, Chicago, and Las Vegas as well as various additional consultations with representatives of all travel industry sectors including air, hotel, car, rail, cruise, tour, insurance, and travel industry education providers. In addition, the committee met with U.S., Canadian, and Mexican travel agency association representatives. The meetings and consultations provided opportunities for all industry stakeholders to review progress and provide input for enhancing the TRIP initiative.
